EFCC Arrests Man For Issuing Death Threat Against Its Chairman, Olukoyede

One Kayode Cole has landed himself in trouble for issuing a death threat against the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede.

The operatives of the EFCC on Monday, March 18, 2024 arrested Cole for his death threat against the chairman.

The EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024.

Oyewale said the suspect was arrested at the Lugbe axis of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

Oyewale, in the statement said Cole made the death threat through his Instagram handle: @1billionsecretss while commenting on a story posted by popular blogger, Instablog9ja, on February 1, 2024.

For those who don’t know, Instablog9ja had posted a story with the caption, “A Religious Sect Is Laundering Money for Terrorists. We Traced N7 Billion Fraud Proceeds to another Religious Group – EFCC Chairman.”

But, Cole, reacting to the post, took to the comment section and wrote; “He will be dead in six months. This man will be dead in 6 months; remember, I said it.”

However, in the course of interrogation, the suspect claimed that he was just “chasing clout.”
