Ekweremadu In Big Trouble, Forfeits Multi-Billion Naira Properties

Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu is in hot soup as an Abuja Federal High Court has issued an order of interim forfeiture of 40 landed properties belonging to him.

Here is the breakdown of the properties affected by the interim forfeiture order: Ten (10) of properties in Enugu, three (3) in the United States of America (USA), two (2) in the United Kingdom (UK), one (1) in Lagos, nine (9) in Dubai, and fifteen (15) located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

The trial Judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order following an ex-parte motion filed and moved by Ibrahim Buba on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Ruling on the motion, the Judge ordered EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order of the properties in a national daily within seven days from the date the order was given.

Besides, Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice are currently standing trial in the United Kingdom over allegations of organ harvesting.
