Agungwu,  Ugwuoba,  Oji River local area of Enugu state will be agog between Thursday, November 2nd,  2023, and Sunday, November 5th as an internationally certified Biomedical Scientist and the MD/ CEO of El-Lab, a Medical Diagnostic & Research Centre, one of the first three private medical laboratories in Nigeria with ISO 15189:2012 International Accreditation, Prince (Dr) Elochukwu Adibo accords his late mother,  Her Royal Highness, Ojiefi Lucy Mgbogoye Adibo a befitting farewell.

The late Matriarch of the Adibo royal family was aged 83.

During her eventful lifetime,  the late Ojiefi Adibo was a businesswoman, women’s advocate, philanthropist,  community leader, and devout Christian. She was married to His Royal Highness, the late Igwe Michael Nwaigboegbunam Adibo (Oranyelugo 1 of Ugwuoba). Together they sired sons and daughters, including Dr. Elochukwu, who are today doing extremely well in their various fields and endeavors.

Meeting the late Ojiefi. Adibo for the first time during the birthday celebration of her son, Dr. Elochukwu sometime ago,  it was clear that the E-Lab boss inherited his quantum accomplishments and success in the areas of Biomedical science from her.

Notedly, that first and only encounter with the late matriarch of the Adibo royal family left me with an everlasting impression of a warm, successful, fulfilled, and hospitable woman whose enterprise, dexterity, tenacity of purpose, and goal-oriented approach to issues reflected in her utterances and demeanor.

Success could after all be inherited! Of course, Dr Elochukwu who is a towering figure like his mother is a member of the prestigious Institute of Biomedical Science, and Royal Microscopic Society both in the UK who is on the register of the Health Care Profession Council in the UK and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership of The United States of America.

He also served as Technical Assistant for Health and Safety in the “Coal to Power” team under Professor P.O Okeke; the Special Adviser on Coal Matters to the former Minister of Power, Prof. Bath Nnaji.

Dr. Elochukwu does not belong to the league of some financially stable men who treat their parents shabbily while they are alive but lavish fortunes on their burial when they die.
