First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has received an award from the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for its support for technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, auditing, and digital trust in Nigeria.
The award recognises FCMB’s partnership with ISACA in sharing knowledge, training professionals, and promoting better standards in Nigeria’s technology sector.
Yemisi Edun, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FCMB, received a commemorative plaque on behalf of the bank at ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration held in Lagos on August 21.
Speaking at the event, Edun said FCMB values its partnership with ISACA and that the recognition shows the importance of working together to improve professional skills and build trust in digital services.
She said as banks and other financial institutions depend more on technology, good management, cybersecurity, proper risk control, and regular checks are important to protect customers and keep businesses strong.
Edun also said she believes ISACA will continue to train and develop professionals who can handle new challenges and make good use of new technologies.
The Global Chief Executive Officer of ISACA, Erik Prusch, praised Nigeria’s technology and cybersecurity professionals for their experience and ability to handle challenges.
He said businesses need well-trained workers who can help them grow, adjust to changes, and benefit from new technologies.
The President of the ISACA Lagos Chapter, Justus Osuji, said the 30th anniversary was a time to look back at the chapter’s three decades of work in training professionals, providing leadership, and sharing knowledge.
He said the chapter has played an important role in areas such as information systems auditing, cybersecurity, technology management, risk management, compliance, and new technologies in Nigeria and other countries.
FCMB said it will continue to invest in technology, digital services, cybersecurity, and risk management to provide safe and convenient banking services to individuals, businesses, and organisations.
ISACA was founded in 1969 and is a global professional organisation that focuses on technology management, cybersecurity, risk management, and information systems auditing. The organisation has members in 188 countries and more than 225 chapters around the world.
