After causing a scene by attempting to obstruct an aircraft from taking off at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigerian Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, is set to become an Airport Protocol Ambassador, proposed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Recall that the NCAA had previously placed the musician on a no-fly list and petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, as well as the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, requesting a full investigation and possible prosecution of the singer.
Be that as it may, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), in a statement on Wednesday, disclosed that the NCAA’s decision followed a review of the incident and the musician’s public show of remorse.
The statement reads; “In the case of KWAM 1, the NCAA is to reduce his flight ban to a one-month period. FAAN will also work with the music star with a view to engaging him as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol going forward.”
“Having publicly demonstrated penitence, the NCAA is also to withdraw its criminal complaints against KWAM 1 earlier lodged with the Police.”
“In the case of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi, and the co-pilot, First Officer Ivan Oloba of VALUEJET, the NCAA is to restore their licenses after the same period of one-month ban after undergoing some mandatory professional re-appraisal. The details will be announced by the NCAA.”
