Foremost financial institution, First Bank of Nigeria Limited has been dragged into assault controversy as policemen attached to one of its branches in Lekki, Lagos were seen in a video making the rounds beating up a customer.
The incident happened at Osapa, Lekki branch of the bank on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019.
The video revealed the victim on a lemon T-shirt being dragged by one of the private guards while two policemen slapped him repeatedly from opposite direction. The footage also showed one of the policemen hitting him with his gun.
Sources told us that trouble started when the victim had had an altarcation with a fellow bank customer and was asked to leave the banking hall but he refused and insisted on closing down his account.
Sources said his decision to close his account did not augur well with the operatives who descended on him.
