Football Star, Mikel Obi Cries Out

Nigerian football star and Turkish club Trabzonspor midfielder, John Obi Mikel has opened his book of lamentation following the widespread of the deadly global disease, Covid19 a.k.a Coronavirus.

The footballer, prior to his dismissal by the Turkish club took to his Instagram page and lamented.

He wrote; “There is more to life than football. I do not feel comfortable and don’t want to play football in this situation. Everyone should be home with their families and loved ones in this critical time. Season should be cancelled as the world is facing such turbulent times.”

For those who don’t know, Mikel Obi have been sacked by his club, Trabzonspor.

According to a statement by the club, it reads; “The professional football player agreement between our company and John Obi Mikel on 30.06.2019 start date 31.05.2021 has been mutually terminated. With a mutual termination agreement, the football player gave up all his forward-looking receivables.”

Trouble started last weekend when Mikel Obi refused to come off the bench for their 1-1 draw with Istanbul Basaksehir. The former Chelsea star had also criticised the Turkish football authorities for not suspending the league like others did in their respectively leagues despite the spread of the Coronavirus.
