Famouspeople.com.ng can now tell you for free that the marriage between popular Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo and her younger husband, Bobby Maris, has crashed like a pack of badly stacked cards.
The actress confirmed the development on Tuesday evening through a series of posts on her Instagram Story, where she questioned why people see it as wrong for a woman to walk away from a marriage she is no longer happy in.
Her reaction came after rumours of trouble in their marriage spread across social media, with many pointing out that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
In one of the posts, Uche wrote: “If a woman gets tired of a marriage now, it’s considered a taboo because she’s a woman. Why must it always be the man who gets tired? I’m tired – completely exhausted. I’m tired of being the ‘princess’ in the marriage. What’s wrong with that? In this country, it seems the only way for a woman to be happy in marriage is to have the right connections.”
She added: “If I say I don’t want to continue, is that a sin? Nobody should push me to the wall because I can only take so much. Eight years of my life isn’t enough? Maybe I should wait for 20 years, or until I’m six feet under, before people will believe I’ve suffered enough.”
