The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
According to the schedule, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will be held on February 20, 2027, while the Governorship and State Assembly elections are set for March 6, 2027.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, announced the dates at a news conference on Friday in Abuja.
The commission had earlier disclosed on February 4 that it had finalised the election timetable and schedule of activities despite delays in the passage of the amended Electoral Act currently before the National Assembly.
INEC noted that while it had made submissions to lawmakers, some activities in the timetable may be affected depending on when the Electoral Act amendment is passed.
