Joe Okei-Odumakin Mourns Nollywood Icon, Sadiq Daba

Famous Nigerian women’s rights activist cum President of Women Arise for Change Initiative and the Campaign for Democracy, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin has mourned the demise of veteran actor, Sadiq Daba.

For those who don’t know, Sadiq Daba, died on Wednesday evening, March 3rd, 2021 after a long battle with leukemia and prostate cancer at his Lagos home in Alausa.

He was subsequently buried on Thursday afternoon, March 4th, 2021 according to Islamic rites at the Agege Hausa Cemetery in Lagos.

However, Odumakin who is saddened by the news of Daba’s departure, lamented.

She said; “Women Arise and the Centre for Change are so saddened to learn about the passage of our own veteran broadcaster and Nollywood icon, Sadiq Daba.”

“For decades, he gave his best to this country through creative acting and incisive comments on current affairs across media platforms.”

“He was an ardent supporter of truth who also gave selfless service. This, he demonstrated through his work as well as in his association with our organisations.”

“It is saddening that Daba ended the race at a time when there are assurances of his total recovery, thereby giving hope to friends, colleagues and well-wishers. I commiserate with the family, fans, friends and colleagues of the departed patriot.”

“We do sincerely appeal that we have the wife, children, family and other loved ones he left behind in our prayers. “Good night our dear Sadiq Daba.”
