President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to work with his administration to develop the country, while reaffirming his commitment to improving infrastructure.
The President made the appeal during the inauguration of the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road, which stretches from Kado Fish Market to Dei-Dei in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu said the road project would make life easier for residents by reducing travel time and improving the movement of people and goods.
He said: “We have reduced travel time and made transportation easier for residents. Goods will now move faster, markets will become more active, and workers will get to their jobs with less stress. This will help improve the economy and the lives of people in this area.”
Tinubu also praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the “Light Up Abuja” initiative, describing it as a clear example of the benefits of democracy.
He said: “Through the Light Up Abuja initiative, we have installed streetlights to make it safer for people to move around at night and to allow businesses to stay open for longer. This is what the dividends of democracy look like.”
The President added that his administration remains committed to carrying out development projects across the FCT, including the area councils.
He said: “We are not slowing down. From the city centre to the area councils, we are building roads and other infrastructure to promote development, improve safety, and create opportunities for everyone. Every community deserves to benefit from the work of this administration.”
Tinubu urged Nigerians to support the government’s efforts to build a better country. “Let us work together for development. Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams.”
