Nigerian Singer, Wizkid Wins 2020 BET Soul Train Award

These are certainly the best of times for Nigerian super star, Ayo Balogun, popularly known Wizkid as he has emerged winner of the 2020 BET Soul Train Award.

Wizkid a.k.a Starboy won the award alongside his American female colleague, Beyoncé for their collaboration on the song, Brown Skin Girl of ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album.

The award was held on Sunday, November 29th, 2020 and saw American star, Chris Brown emerge top winner with four (4) wins out of 12 categories.

Another American singer, Gabriella Wilson, popularly known as H.E.R won two (2) awards i.e. ‘Best R&B’ and ‘Best Soul Female Artist’.

  5. Best R&B/soul Male Artist: Chris Brown
  6. Best Collaboration Performance: Chris Brown & Young Thug, “Go Crazy”
  7. Rhythm & Bars Award: Megan Thee Stallion, “Savage”
  8. Best Dance Performance: Chris Brown & Young Thug, “Go Crazy”
  9. Best Gospel/Inspirational Award: Kirk Franklin
  10. The Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award: H.E.R., “I Can’t Breathe”
  11. Lady of Soul Award: Monica
  12. Soul Train Certified Award: Brandy
  13. Best New Artist: Snoh Aalegra
