NLC President, Ajaero Recounts, Says He Was Beaten Like A Common Criminal

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joe Ajaero has recounted on his ordeal in the hands of alleged thugs and security men in Imo State.

Ajaero, speaking to newsmen on Friday, November 10, 2023 in Abuja, lamented that he was beaten like a common criminal and handed over the police.

He said: “The NLC wrote to all the security agencies before they went to the state for the protest last week.”

“The workers who arrived at the venue of the protest on that day around 7 am were beaten up by thugs with their phones seized.”

“I got there around 9 am after I got the report of an assault on workers. The police arrested me and handed me over to thugs.”

“I can’t explain the beating I received. They tied my hands and dragged me on the floor like a common criminal.”

“I am not a card-carrying member of any political party as alleged.”
