Renowned Nigerian actress, Shirley Igwe, has found herself in hot water following allegations of misconduct on a movie set in Lagos.
After a thorough investigation into the incident, the National Executive Council (NEC) has taken disciplinary action by suspending the actress.
The development was confirmed in an official statement signed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, who emphasized the Guild’s commitment to maintaining professionalism and discipline within the industry.
Rollas said; “Following our preliminary investigation into the allegation of violence levelled against actress Shirley Igwe on a film set in Lagos, the National Executive Council (NEC) has resolved to place her on indefinite suspension.”
“This suspension is due to her professional misconduct, violence and indiscipline – actions capable of discrediting the acting profession.”
“These offences contravenes the actors’ code of conduct and are punishable in accordance with constitutional provision.”
“Members are hereby directed to refrain from participation in any film production involving her.”
