Ogun State House of Assembly, through its House Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions, has re-invited one Mr. Gaba Owoeye to honour the Committee’s next invitation over a petition on allegation of land grabbing and unlawful encroachment on Ilado Community land in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the State.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Oluseun Adesanya, issued the invitation today during an interface with the parties concerned on the disputed land following Owoeye’s failure to honour the Assembly’s previous invitation extended to him.
Hon. Adesanya, in company of other members of the Committee noted that the petition submitted by members of the Ilado Community over alleged land grabbing required the presence of Owoeye to address the issues concerning the disputed land.
The House Committee Chairman warned that failure to honour the next invitation scheduled for a later date to be communicated to the parties, the Assembly would not hesitate to invoke the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) to issue a warrant to compel him to attend.
The House Committee also directed Mr. Owoeye and all other parties mentioned in the petition and the petitioners to stay away from the disputed land and maintain the status quo, pending the resolution of the matter.
