Onikan Brings Quiet Confidence To Afro-Fusion With ‘Saturn’

0

Creative Business Academy (CBA) for Africa 2026 cohort artist Onikan will release the project Saturn on 16th October, 2026. Built around spacious production, soulful vocals and subtle percussion, Saturn continues the artist’s pursuit of emotional truth through minimalism, silence and pacing.

Born Timilehin in Lagos and based in Abuja, Onikan began with hip-hop dance, drawing, writing and years behind the drum kit, a background that shapes the music’ sense of space. Church choir and Michael Jackson’s approach to performance as art are early influences, and the sound blends Afro-fusion, alt RnB, soul, jazz and Afrobeats. Since launching in 2021, Onikan has released independently, including the singles “Lies” (2023), “2nd Chance” (2024), and “Siruus” and “Surrender” (2025).

“I stayed quiet until it made sense,” says Onikan.

Saturn arrives alongside a new 2026 visual era, with press imagery defined by a beanie, leather, red curtain, radio and chair.

Saturn will be available on all major streaming platforms.
