The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie, has come down hard on Nigerian music superstar, Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, over her appearance at the 68th Grammy Awards.
In a blistering reaction, Ossai expressed deep displeasure with Chioma’s outfit, accusing her of failing to project Nigerian cultural values on a global stage. He didn’t stop there, Davido also caught the heat, with Ossai faulting the singer for allegedly allowing his wife step out in what he described as an inappropriate outfit.
Taking to social media, the governor’s aide minced no words as he lambasted the celebrity couple.
“I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing. She shouldn’t have appeared half-naked at the Grammys,” he wrote.
“She failed to represent Nigerian culture, choosing a revealing Western style instead. Cultural representation matters, especially on a global platform,” Ossai added.
He concluded by turning his criticism on the award-winning singer: “I am equally disappointed in Davido for allowing her to dress this way. Truly disappointed.”
