Peace Has Returned To Rivers, Says Fubara Amid Reconciliation With Wike

President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, convened a reconciliation meeting involving the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara; his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike; and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Speaking after the meeting, Governor Fubara expressed joy and optimism, assuring the public that peace has returned to Rivers state.

He said: “For me, it’s very important that this day has come.”

“What we need for the progress of Rivers State is peace, and by the special grace of God, this night, with the help of Mr. President and the agreement of the leaders of the state, peace has returned to Rivers State.”

“We will do everything within our power to ensure that we sustain it this time around.”
