The Queens Palm Initiative has celebrated its second anniversary with a leadership and communication conference aimed at empowering young females with the power skills needed for personal and academic success. The event, held in Lagos, featured speakers across communication, personal development, relationship coaching, and leadership advocacy.
Founder of the Initiative, Sabrina Ozma, explained that the programme was inspired by her professional experience as a communications specialist and a divine instruction to create a platform where young girls can acquire soft skills that drive excellence. She noted that the initiative began in Abuja in 2023 and has since grown stronger over the past two years.
Ozma acknowledged initial challenges, including misunderstandings from schools and limited funding, but said family and friends contributed to keeping the vision alive. She added that the aim is to see young people thrive, develop leadership capacity, and communicate confidently. She expressed confidence that attendees were equipped with insights into emotional intelligence, personal branding, leadership, and counselling.
Publisher of Brand Communicator, Pastor Joshua Ajayi, described the session as impactful, noting that he remained after his lecture to learn from other facilitators. He encouraged the attendees to be intentional about building their personal brands and living in ways that leave a memorable impression.
Founder of the Refined Female Movement, Bodan Taiwo, said her biggest drive is vision and the lives connected to her work. Advising young females interested in engineering, she emphasized mental strength, discipline, and delayed gratification as pathways to success.
Personal Development Coach, Temitayo Olawale-Olatujoye, said the conference was fulfilling, especially seeing young people receive insights she did not have at their age. She stressed the importance of emotional intelligence and urged participants to be intentional with their lives.
Relationship Coach, Dr. Funmilayo Ajetunmobi, said the conference was an honor to attend, noting that investing in young people strengthens their future. She highlighted emotional intelligence as the major takeaway, explaining that talent alone is insufficient without the ability to manage emotions and relationships.
Participants also shared their experiences, with Yomisun Amira of International School UNILAG noting that the conference taught her to speak out more and maintain self-awareness. Anjola Oluwamushin of Loreans College said she learned confidence and gained clarity on discovering her purpose, while Chineme Okpala-Nedu of Lagos Anglican Grammar School explained that she learned never to look down on herself and to always maintain a clear vision for her future.
The Queens Palm Initiative reaffirmed its commitment to equipping young female leaders with communication, leadership, and emotional intelligence skills needed to shape their future and influence society.
