Famous Nigerian singer, Skales, whose real name is John Njenga-Njeng, has reacted strongly to viral reports claiming he divorced his wife, Precious Hassanity because she allegedly mocked his music career on social media.
The rumour gained traction after a social media user, @Verity_HQ, alleged that Skales made a statement suggesting he ended his marriage due to a disparaging comment his wife made on one of his posts.
According to the post attributed to Skales, he was quoted as saying;
“I divorced my wife because of a comment she made on my post and I don’t regret it… She should’ve defended me or, better still, stayed quiet. I wasn’t totally wrong for divorcing her because a woman who doesn’t support your hustle isn’t a good wife.”
However, the artist has now come out to debunk the claims, describing them as entirely false and malicious.
Skales said; “This is really evil of you that you would cook up such a story. This is not fair. I have never made such a statement and this is false. Please stop spreading lies.”
For those who don’t know, Skales and Precious Hassanity, a professional chef, tied the knot in September 2021.
Their marriage has drawn public attention, but the singer insists the latest rumour is baseless and damaging.
