The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has approved the appointment of Mr. Joachin Chinedum Achor as the Acting Accountant General of the state, with immediate effect.

This appointment marks a significant recognition of Mr. Achor’s exemplary dedication and long-standing service in the state’s public finance system. Known for his competence and commitment to transparency, Mr. Achor has risen steadily through the ranks beginning his career in the civil service at the entry level, and progressing to serve as Director, then Permanent Secretary, before his current elevation.
In announcing the appointment, Governor Soludo emphasized the need for continued reform and professionalism in public financial management, a core pillar of his administration’s “Anambra Transformation Agenda.”
Mr. Achor’s appointment is seen as a continuation of the Governor’s efforts to strengthen the fiscal discipline and accountability frameworks of the state. His wealth of experience and understanding of the state’s financial operations is expected to enhance efficiency and integrity in the management of public funds.
The appointment was formally announced by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
