Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has reiterated his commitment to the comprehensive development of the state. This declaration was made during an endorsement rally held in the Oba and Obosi communities, located in Idemili North and South, respectively.
Responding to a request from Oba youths for the release of Akwa Ọkụkọ Tiwara Akị, Governor Soludo clarified that the legal process is underway and cannot be interrupted until resolved in court. He highlighted the negative impact of eroded values on society, particularly on the youth, and emphasized the importance of social and value reorientation.
“We must support our culture and tradition, which emphasize truth, justice, and hard work, rather than the pursuit of wealth through magical means,” the Governor stated.
He noted that alongside infrastructural development in education, health, and youth initiatives, there is a critical need for a societal rebirth focused on values. Reflecting on the state’s progress, he pointed out that areas once plagued by violence and chaos are now returning to normalcy.
“In this coming election, the future of Anambra is on the ballot. When we first came into office, eight local government areas were impassable. People were being murdered randomly. It was a state of anarchy and almost a war situation, but today, places such as Mbosi, Osumorghu, Lilu, Iseke are now gradually returning back to normal. That is how we must retrieve all parts of Igbo land.
The Governor expressed gratitude to the communities for organizing the rally and congratulated the newly selected traditional ruler.
Community leaders, including the Mayors of Idemili North and South and the President General of the Oba Patriotic Union, praised the visible advancements made under his administration and pledged their unwavering support for Soludo’s re-election on November 8, 2025.
The Governor who was accompanied by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, was equally presented with a cheque of fifty million naira support by the people of Oba.
