Chief Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, Mr. Christian Aburime, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dr. Harris Udokama Chuma-Odili, popularly known as Ogene Ogbunike, founder of the Anambra Core Media Advocates (ACMA), who passed away on August 23, 2025.
In a statement, Aburime described Dr. Chuma-Odili as a passionate advocate for responsible media practices whose work left a significant impact on journalism, civic engagement, and public advocacy in Anambra State and beyond.
“Dr. Chuma-Odili’s contributions to media advocacy promoted ethics, accountability, and responsible journalism. His tireless efforts in fostering media literacy and empowering citizens through informed discourse have created a legacy that will be remembered and cherished for generations,” Aburime said.
He further noted that the late media advocate was a visionary leader who consistently championed truth in journalism, ensuring that the voices of ordinary citizens were heard and respected.
“The passing of Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili is a profound loss for Anambra State. His passion, commitment, and dedication to strengthening the media landscape serve as an enduring inspiration to us all,” he added.
On behalf of Governor Soludo and the entire media community in Anambra, Aburime extended heartfelt condolences to Dr. Chuma-Odili’s family, friends, and colleagues, urging Ndi Anambra to honor his memory by reflecting on the values he upheld and the impact he made.
