Ogun State House of Assembly has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for appointing experienced and competent individuals to lead the State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, gave the commendation today, while playing host to the members of the Commission led by a former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi during a courtesy visit on the Assembly members at the State House of Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Speaker, in company of his co-lawmakers noted that the Governor’s choice of competent hands reflected his commitment to the progress of the Assembly and the State; assuring the commission members of more support for the overall development of the legislative arm and the State.
Earlier in his presentation, the new Chairman of the Commission, Rt. Hon. Adekunbi, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for their support during the screening and confirmation process, soliciting more support for its assignment.
He also pledged the commission’s dedication to advancing the welfare of the members of staff of the Assembly.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has urged residents of Iporo Akinbon Ja Community in Odeda Local Government Area to formally communicate the relevant authorities on the need to address allegations of land grabbing and threats to life in their communities caused by one Yusuf Akinremi and Biola Bisiriyu, who were alleged of land grabbing activities.
Addressing protesters from the communities at the Assembly Complex, Oke- Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Speaker emphasized that Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration had zero-tolerance for land grabbing, citing past instances where offenders were arrested and prosecuted.
He assured the residents of the affected communities of the Assembly’s commitment to justice and the rule of law; promising that the issue would be promptly addressed immediately the formal complaint was received.
