The unprecedented developments in terms of infrastructures, cleanliness and good governance in Surulere Local Government despite its size then made the local government win several awards including that of the Best Local Government in Lagos State many times during the tenure of Hakeem Olaogun Onikoyi-Dickson.
A quintessential gentleman whose mode of administration then was second to non, little wonder the local government became a mini sport city on its own and the then chairman Olaogun Dickson became the mayor of the city.
Till date what the administration of Hakeem Dickson set as pedestal is what subsequent administrations are still building upon. Like side walk for pedestrians, relaxation gardens and parks, flowing drainages, good roads and other social amenities.
HOD became a household name all over Surulere and beyond while the local government became a benchmark and a role model to other local governments in the state.
Like the saying “ Good work speaks for itself” it is in the light of all these good works and past achievements of HOD that has prompted the people of Lagos State most especially the youth to call on Hon. Hakeem Dickson to come and run for the office of the governor of Lagos State so he could replicate some of his administrative prowess on a larger scale and help in moving Lagos State to the next level a feat which he is ready to accomplish by the grace of God and the unflinching support of the good people of the state as he declares his ambition.
