Veteran Yoruba Actress, Orisabunmi Dies At 60

This is sad news for the Yoruba movie industry as one of its own, Mrs. Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi has kicked the bucket.

The veteran actress died on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 according to President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan a.k.a Baba Latin who said; “Orisabunmi died late Tuesday night.”

The famous actress died after a brief illness at her residence in Ibadan, Oyo State. She died at the age of 60.

However, confirming her death on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021, veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko said; “Folake’s death is a terrible blow to the Nigerian theatre arts industry, I pray that God will comfort her family members and her loved ones.”

“No doubt, Folake was a thoroughbred actress. She was an amazon in the industry and we respected and valued her for her contribution. She gave her all to her career and she was recognised for her worth.”
