Mrs. Vivian Anochie has finally debunked the allegation making the rounds by her husband, Mr. Philip Anochie, that the popular televangelist cum Lead Pastor of Grace Nation a.k.a Liberation City, Dr Chris Okafor, rented an apartment for his wife and denied him access to his six children.
Mrs. Anochie in an exclusive interview with the media on Thursday, December 1st, 2022, gave insight about what transpired. Hear her…
“I am Mrs. Vivian Anochie, I am from Imo State. My husband’s name is Mr. Philip Ifesinachi Anochie. He is a Lecturer at Michael & Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Delta State.”
“My husband and I have been married for 21years, and we have been separated for 7years. He started threatening me in year 2015 that he would kill me and nothing will happen.”
“The church I was attending before, rented a room apartment for me and my children in Shasha, Lagos. The church which rented the apartment for me and my children was the same church that conducted wedding for us.”
“Because the church does not want people to say they separated us, they asked me to allow him see the children whenever he wants to see them and I agreed.”
“That period he also rented a room apartment in Akisan, around Igando, so I stayed with the children. But after 7months he said he wants to come and see the children and the church said I should allow him. When he came to Shaha to see the children, he decided that he will not go again since it is the church that rented the house for us.”
“Well, for him not to cause any problem, I had to allow him. Allowing him does not mean that we are still husband and wife. Besides, we were living together yet he does not take care of the children and he was making trouble with us in the one room apartment.”
“He stayed with us while he was teaching in a private school after about 4years he got a new job in Delta State and he left us, that was when we had peace.”
“Those period he was living with us I was working and sometime I had to stay with my sister at her place to avoid trouble because he has been harrassing us.”
“Not up to a year he travelled to Delta State, he sent us a picture informing me and the children, six (6) of them that he has finally married. He told the children that he has settled down and has married someone that he loved.”
“Since he left for Delta State he never visited Lagos until he heard that I have packed out from the one room apartment, that was when he came to Lagos. He has not seen the children this year and he doesn’t send money to them, except when he feels like, then he will send N10,000 to N20,000 to them.”
“My brother rented 2-bedroom flat for me and my children and enroled them into school. Because of my experience at Shasha I vowed that I was not going to let him know where we are living, and that is what is causing all this problem. I have received different calls from my colleagues at our former place that my husband has been harrassing them that he wants to know where I live.”
“When he couldn’t find out where we are living, he took to Facebook and posted the picture of my brother, because he later found out that it was my brother who is based in the United States that rented the apartment for us. He posted the picture of my brother and his wife on our Community Group on social media that they kidnapped the children and denied him access to them.”
“Alot of people were asking him if he married me on social media and that he should have gone to the family instead to report rather than going on social media.”
“After disgracing me and my family on social media, we were all surprise when he started mentioning Dr Chris Okafor, saying that Dr Chris Okafor rented house for me that he wants to use the children for rituals. He said Dr Chris Okafor rented house for me near his church and that he wants to use my children for ritual to regain the money he spent for the house.”
“I was surprise when he started posting the picture of Dr Chris Okafor everywhere, scandalising his name.”
Shedding more light on when she joined Liberation City, Mrs. Anozie, said; “I joined Liberation City when I was still living in Shasha, that is 4years ago.”
On wether she has met Dr Chris Okafor one-on-one since she joined Liberation City, she said; “I have never met Dr Chris Okafor since I joined Liberation City. He has never given me any money before because I have not gone to him for help even when they call people out for assistance, I had never come out.”
“I have never been to Dr Chris Okafor to tell him about my family, I have never done that before. I came to Liberation City through my inlaw (my sister’s husband). He is a man of God, he and his wife directed me here that Dr Chris Okafor is a true man of God. So, when I started coming to Liberation City with my younger sister, I loved the place and that was how I started coming to Grace Nation.”
On whether Dr Chris Okafor knew what transpired between she and her husband, Mrs. Anochie said; “I want the whole world to know that Mr. Philip Anochie is tarnishing the image of the man of God that he rented a house for me. Dr Chris Okafor did not rent any house for me. Mr. Philip knows the truth.”
Clearing the air on the allegations by her husband that he was denied access of seeing her and the children in the house that Dr Chris Okafor rented for her, Mrs. Anochie said; “My husband did not visit us and doesn’t know where we live. It was the picture that my daughter snapped while we where going to church on a Sunday which she posted on her status that he saw. That was how he got to know that where we are living now is okay.”
“He saw the picture when my children posted it on their status. He denied that he does not have access to the children and yet he speaks to them steady. He also calls me, I did not block his number, just that whenever he calls me I will give the phone to the children. Because if I pick his call he will start insulting me.”
“The reason why I don’t allow him to know where we are living is because if he does, he will come and be causing trouble and our landlord might because of that give us quit notice. He has access to the children only that he don’t send money to them.”
Reacting to whether she and her husband are divorced, Mrs. Anochie, said; “I have filed for divorce, the case is already in court. It was when the lawyer sent a message to him that he started all this trouble. Initially, he said he was okay with it that everybody should go their separate ways.”
“Besides, after spoiling my name on social media, he will still send me a message that I should forgive him and I asked him to go back to social media and tell them the truth if he needs forgiveness from me. I feel tht he knows what he is doing.”
Reacting also to whether Dr Chris Okafor was the one that sponsored her divorce, Mrs. Anochie reiterated that; “Dr Chris Okafor does not know anything about my family. I am just a member of Grace Nation like every other person. Mr Philip Anochie calls me names, he accused me of following men in Lagos.”
“Is not even only Dr Chris Okafor that he is abusing, he also abuses his elder sister who trained him in school. When his sister told him that he wants to take our two children, he accused the sister that she wants to use them for rituals.”
