Veteran Nollywood actor-turned-politician, Emeka Ike, has expressed disappointment over a court ruling dismissing his N10 billion fundamental human rights suit against Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday dismissed the suit filed by Ike against Olayinka and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to the court, Ike failed to establish how his fundamental human rights had been violated by the defendants, adding that his claims lacked sufficient merit.

The judge subsequently dismissed the suit, ruling in favour of Olayinka and INEC on the grounds that the actor had failed to substantiate his allegations.

Reacting to the judgment, Ike expressed disappointment and questioned the meaning of fundamental human rights, citing what he described as embarrassment and online bullying.

He said: “It’s even crazy that your right will be violated and the judge will tell you it’s not a fundamental human right. Then what is a fundamental human right? The embarrassment, the bullying online.”
