Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has now parted ways with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A resignation letter, which surfaced on Monday, November 1, 2025, but was dated November 4, confirmed his exit from the party.
However, the letter revealed the reason the governor decided to abandon the opposition party.
The letter reads; “Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.”
“I appreciate the PDP for the opportunities granted to me to serve as Senator representing Osun West and as Governor of Osun State.”
His resignation comes less than 24 hours before the PDP governorship primary election.
Meanwhile, the Osun State PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, announced that the party would no longer hold the scheduled Tuesday primary due to internal factional disputes.
According to him, Adeleke is no longer interested in seeking the party’s nomination amid the ongoing crisis.
