Zamfara State was agog recently as citizens took to the streets to celebrate the news of the suspension of Senator Kabiru Marafa from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his suspension as the end of a plague.
Our sources in Kwara squealed to us that Senator Marafa has been scheming to become the next Governor of Zamfara under the APC until Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle decamped to the party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to our sources, since Governor Matawalle decamped, Senator Marafa has been faced with the impossibility of un-sitting the Governor and has now vowed to make the State ungovernable by seeking every means possible to impeach the Governor.
The Senator who represented Zamfara Central at the 8th National Assembly has just been suspended from the ruling All Progressive Congress APC by his ward following the vote of no confidence on him.
However, reacting to his suspension, a source from Tsafe Local Government, the country home of the Senator said: “The former senator was suspended indefinitely from the state ruling party the APC, following his refusal to abide by the party existing constitution by continuously trying by all means to destroy the party structures in the state.”
Be that as it may, thousands of young men and women are on the streets of Gusau the state capital of Zamfara chanting different songs of joy following the suspension of the former legislature.
The penultimate week, some concerned citizens of Zamfara wrote a 4 pages petition to the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to sanction the former senator due to his bad attitudes and behaviours which could lead to the party division in the State.
