Zamfara Government Gives Free Medical Healthcare To Over 35,000 People As The Statewide Medical Outreach Continues In Gummi LGA

The State Government’s implementation exercise of the medical outreach providing medical services and medicament to over thirty-five thousand target beneficiaries, across the fourteen Local Government Areas continued at Gummi on Sunday, August 21st, 2022.

Speaking on the occasion held at the General Hospital Gummi, the State Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Jarman Gusau, standing in for the State Governor, said the programme is aimed at complementing the present administration’s commitments to improving health care service delivery to the common man in the State.

Senator Gusau explained the impact of the provisions of free medical healthcare services to people especially the vulnerable ones cannot be overemphasized. Hence the importance attached to the project by Governor Bello Matawalle who directed the State Ministry of Health and the State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA) to come up with possible strategies for identifying and reaching out to the beneficiaries in their respective local government areas.

The Deputy Governor, on behalf of His Excellency, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, assured the people of the State that the State government would continue to do anything humanly possible to protect the lives and properties of its citizens as it equally emphasizes giving free education and free healthcare service delivery.

The Jarman Gusau was later taken around the hospital by the officials of the ministry and inspected the activities being conducted under the exercise and also inspected the Pediatric Ward of the General Hospital where he commended the Medicine Sans Frontiers (MSF) for providing free drugs and free services to babies in the area.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Health, Hon Aliyu Abubakar MC, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Aliyu Maikiyo Maradun, thanked the State Governor, his Deputy and all other stakeholders on the front line contributing to the success of the programme.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of ZAMCHEMA, Dr Abdukadir Aliyu Shinkafi reiterated his Agency’s readiness to provide all the requirements for the successful implementation of the programme, and assured of their continuous facilitation to bring the all-important health-oriented programmes of positive impact to the people

A number of important personalities from Gummi local government and top government officials from the Deputy Governor’s entourage were in attendance at the occasion.
