Zamfara Online Publisher On The Run Over N370 Million Fraud

Reports reaching us have it that the Chairman of a Zamfara based online media outlet, Thunder Blower, Anas Sani Anka is in EFCC trouble following his involvement in some financial frauds running into billions at the Federal University Gusau.

The Publisher who was the ex-Project officer of the Federal University, Gusau (FUG) was declared wanted by the anti- corruption agency when an ivestigation he was conducting on the former Vice Chancellor of the University Professor, Magaji was interrogated.

Anas sani Anka was mentioned in the interrogation as a front for the VC in collecting bribe from contractors with intent of giving them juicy contracts that were never awarded.

He was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC over an allegation of 419 and gratification involving a whooping sum of N370 million.

He was said to have collected from various contractors for the fencing of the University during the time he was serving as the institution’s Projects Officer.

Anas Anka also allegedly collected from other different contractors with the promise to pave a way for them to execute various developmental projects in the university, the report stated.

A source at the Federal University, Gusau who pleaded anonymity revealed to us that, “Since when the former Vice Chancellor of the university mentioned the project officer in the EFCC net before being granted bail, many contractors have approached the Federal university Authority Gusau looking for Anas Sani Anka with different frauds accusations leveled against him.”

The source added that; “The humongous amount of money received by Anas was 500 million, out of which he benefited the sum of N370 million all in the name of providing chances for them to get Contracts in the university.”

“My company was chosen by the University’s’s procurement Department to build part of the Senate building immediately Anas Sani Anka deceived me and collected the sum of 124 million as gratification to the university Management,” one of the victims cries out.

The online publisher who has abandoned his university to online publishing job is also accused of extorting money from people he interviewed.

He is now said to have left the state when he learnt that the operatives of the EFCC are now in Gusau the State capital looking for him.
