Popular Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola has finally reconciled with veteran filmmaker, Afeez Owo after months-long rift.
In a video circulating on social media, the actress was seen kneeling before her senior colleague and apologising to him.
The reconciliation reportedly took place on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at Odunlade Adekola’s movie premiere. In the video, Wumi was heard saying, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me.”
In response, Afeez lifted her up from her knees and embraced her.
For those who don’t know, the rift began months ago after Afeez Owo, in an interview, claimed that Wumi Toriola often reflects her real-life personality – “violence” in her movie roles. He further stated that, unlike Wumi, his wife, Mide Martins, is not as violent in real life as she appears on screen.
He said; “Mide’s character in the movie is totally different from real life, but Wumi’s movie role is close to her character in real life. Violence is her comfort zone.”
“Wumi will react when provoked and she doesn’t take nonsense from anyone. But if you offend Mide in real life, she will remain calm.”
Reacting to the interview, Wumi Toriola, in a video posted on social media, attacked Afeez Owo and described his remarks as “rubbish.”
She said; “Must every rift be taken to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started saying rubbish. After they entertained you with pepper soup, you started blabbing.”
“Am I a mad woman? If people don’t offend me, will I be angry? I have never insulted you before. I still respect you despite your unfortunate behaviour.”
