Ahmed Musa Opens Up On His Return To Nigerian League

When the news of Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa’s return to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and his boyhood club, Kano Pillars broke, many Nigerians were shocked to their bone marrows, having watched him played at the international level.

Be that as it may, the football star has however, given reasons why he made the shocking return.

He said; “Anything that improves the image of Nigerian football is something that I strive to embark on and Kano Pillars holds a special place in my heart.”

“It’s the team that helped me become the professional footballer I am today, so this is more than just football but a very strong bond.”

For those who don’t know, the former Leicester City and CSK Moscow striker rejoined his former club, Kano Pillars on Tuesday April 13th, 2021 after reaching an agreement with the club.

Part of the agreement includes a clause that will allow him leave the club when he eventually finds a suitable club in Europe.

It is interesting to know that Ahmed Musa has been without a club after leaving Saudi Arabian club, Al Nassr in October, 2020.

It is noteworthy that Ahmed Musa started his career at Kano Pillars and played from 2009 to 2012 before he left for Europe, joining Russian side, CSKA Moscow in the same year.

Musa, thereafter joined the 2015 English Premier League winners, Leicester City FC.
