Paramount Yoruba king, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III is dead.
According to the palace officials, he died in the late hours of Friday, April 22nd, 2022. He was 83years.
Sources said he died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The remains of the Alaafin we gathered arrived at Idi-Igba, Oyo town early Saturday morning and was received by the first son and other children.
Sources at the palace squealed that traditional rites have already begun.
For those who don’t know, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III was the longest-reigning Alaafin. He ruled for 52 years before his demise.
