The law firm listed Daniel Onoja Oche, Tomiwa Orunnipin Elijah, Ajibare, Bamidele Samuel, Ajibare Olusola Ebunoluwa, Bonaventure Iloabuchi Igboanugo, Wuraola Rachel Orunnipin, Chinwe Ijeoma Ikpe, Udoye Udenwa Grace, Maryan Nilorah, Olaosebikan Oladapo, Fatoyinbo Dotun, Dr. Favour Nwolisa Afoma, and Matthew Ogunmodede as it’s clients.

In a self-signed statement titled “OMEGAPRO SCAM – Corruption Fights Back As Onoja and Omegapro Diamonds Sue Attorney General and the Lawyers Representing Victims Of The Fraud”, he described the threat to sue as a defiant move against the tide of justice.

Describing OmegaPro Diamonds as enablers of a scam, he frowned at the pre-emptive legal strike, targeting the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun and himself for his public statements and appeals.

He said “Let me be unequivocally clear: their threats will not silence me. I stand by my statements and my unwavering commitment to the over 250,000 Nigerian victims who lost more than N200 billion to this nefarious scheme. The actions of these enablers, including Daniel Onoja and the Omegapro Diamonds, are not just morally reprehensible but legally questionable.

“They have not only profited from the misfortunes of others but are now attempting to use the legal system to shield themselves from accountability. I hereby call their bluff and challenge them to proceed with their threatened legal actions. The truth is a powerful defense, and I am prepared to present the facts in any court of law. Furthermore, I reiterate my demand that they refund the proceeds from the commissions they unjustly earned from the hard-earned money of their victims.”

Furthermore, Banwo condemned the deplorable tactic commonly observed globally, where scammers sue victims and law enforcement agencies preemptively as a strategic maneuver to escape justice.

“We recognize this for what it is – a desperate attempt by the guilty to delay the inevitable reckoning that awaits them. To the public, I appeal to you not to be swayed by these tactics. This is not just an attack on a few individuals but an assault on the very principles of justice and accountability. We must stand united in our demand for the return of the stolen funds and ensure that the law takes its due course.

“The strategy of suing victims and law enforcement agents in advance is a well-known exit strategy of scammers, aimed at derailing justice. We see through this facade and remain committed to our, use. Let this be a message to all involved in the Omegapro scam: your actions will not go unchecked, and justice will prevail.

“I remain stefromfitsin my pursuit of justice and will continue to advocate for the rights of those onged by this scam. Let us all remain vigilant and committed to ensuring that those responsible are held to account for their actions,” he concluded
