KADIFF’s Audu Israel Visits WIPO Nigeria, Seeks Partnership

Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF) Founder and Vice Chairman, Nigerian Film Festival Association, Audu Kashim Israel was at the United Nations house on Friday morning, October 20th, 2023 in Abuja where he paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Moody Oluwatobiloba, Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) which is under the United Nations, Nigeria Representative.

The meeting was to discuss areas of addressing intellectual property protection in the creative industry and other areas of partnership and collaborations including programs of the Nigerian film festival Association.

Oluwatobiloba appreciated Audu for the visit and assured him of support for the Kaduna International Film Festival through master classes on intellectual property protection during the festival, cash prices and other juicy goodies to attract the Kaduna International Film Festival submissions, campaign programs on youth and young people in the North, programs to support intellectual property day 2024 among others.

Oluwatobiloba said; “WIPO will also be happy to collaborate in organizing a workshop with the Nigerian film festival Association”

However, Audu in his speech, said; “I want to thank the director of World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO Nigeria for hosting me and the team. This partnership we have just begun will help the creative industry most especially in Northern Nigeria because of the challenges the film festival has identified in the North in the areas of copyright issues, intellectual property protection, funding, exposure and marketing among others”

Audu was joined by Avenzan Paul, Terry Nyam, Queen Mary Bawa and Amb. Kenneth Anetor.
