Frontline House of Representatives aspirant, Nnamdi Iroegbu, has congratulated Peter Obi following his emergence as the consensus presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Iroegbu described Obi’s emergence as “a moment of hope for the hopeless” and a clear indication that millions of Nigerians are yearning for purposeful, accountable, and people-oriented leadership.
The frontline aspirant for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency in Imo State said Obi’s candidacy represents renewed hope for Nigerians seeking improved security, economic recovery, stable energy supply, food sufficiency, and compassionate governance.
According to him, although Obi may not be desperate to become Nigeria’s President, many Nigerians remain desperate to see the country work again under a disciplined and productive leadership.
Iroegbu stated that the hopes of ordinary Nigerians are anchored on Obi’s values, competence, prudence in resource management, and long-standing message that a better Nigeria is achievable through service and accountability.
He reaffirmed the support of the people of Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency for a nation where opportunities are accessible to all citizens regardless of social background.
The aspirant also commended Rabiu Kwankwaso and the leadership of the NDC for what he described as their vision and commitment in building a credible, transparent, and people-oriented political platform embraced by supporters of the ObiKwankwaso movement.
He expressed optimism that wisdom, unity, and service would continue to guide the party and its leadership, adding that “Nigeria will rise again.”
