Odita Sunday Wins Another Award

The Guardian newspaper’s Defence Editor in Abuja, Odita Sunday, has emerged winner of the Defence/Humanitarian Journalist Category of the 2023 Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA2023).

The organisers of the award made the announcement on Monday, November 20th, 2023 in a letter sent to the veteran security reporter, sighted by famouspeople.com.ng.

The letter reads; “This is to inform you that you have been selected as the winner of Defence/Humanitarian Journalist Category of the 2023 Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA2023).

“The event is organised by Image Merchants Promotion Limited of PRNigeria, Emergency Digest and Spokespersons Digest in conjunction with Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC), Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS) to publicly acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions in security and emergency management with a view to creating resilient and professional approach in tackling national challenges.”

“While winners will be honoured with trophies, finalists will receive Certificates of Excellence.”

“The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu will be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris and President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku will serve as Chairman and Chief Host respectively at the event. “

“Similarly, the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mallam Kashifu Inuwa will deliver the keynote address of the Conference with theme: “Artificial Intelligence: Effective Communication for National Security”.

However, the event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja by 4pm.
