Popular Nollywood actor-turned-politician, Yul Edochie has stirred controversy following his recent remarks about former Anambra State governor and presidential hopeful, Peter Obi.

The actor asserted that Peter Obi “cannot be Nigeria’s president for now,” despite his alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a renewed push to realise his ambition after the 2025 general election under the Labour Party (LP).
Yul, made the statement via his X handle (formerly Twitter), where he wrote:
“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time. It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that.”
“I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it. But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”
