As the November 8 gubernatorial election approaches, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has embarked on a series of phenomenal campaign rallies across Anambra State, garnering significant support in Idemili South and Nnewi North local government areas. Both events reflected the growing enthusiasm among residents for the candidacy of the Governor and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, as they work to unite communities under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
In Idemili South, a vibrant rally was held at the local government headquarters in Ojoto, where community leaders and citizens came together to showcase their unwavering support for APGA. Enthusiastic crowds gathered to celebrate the achievements of the current administration, with improvements in infrastructure, security, and economic growth taking center stage. “I appreciate the people for organizing this rally at their own expense,”
Governor Soludo said. “It is for the common people that we keep awake every night, trying to build a new society where Anambra children can live.” He urged attendees to come out in droves to vote on November 8, emphasizing that collective action is crucial for driving further progress in the state.
Local leaders, including Mayor of Idemili South, Mrs. Amaka Obi, and a prominent resident, Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu, reinforced the message of unity. “We must ensure that every vote counts in this election,” Obi declared, while Iyiegbu emphasized that with the people’s backing, APGA will continue to effect positive changes in Anambra.
Community member, Chiemelie Okafor added, “Our support for the Governor is not just for his candidacy but for the future of our children.” The mobilization event culminated in Idemili South donating over thirty million naira as campaign support, a testament to their commitment to Governor Soludo’s vision for Anambra.
The campaign train then moved to Nnewi North, where Governor Soludo addressed supporters at Nkwọ Triangle, urging them to combat voter apathy and participate fully in the democratic process. “Your vote is your voice, and it is essential that we conquer voter apathy in the state,” he stressed, calling on ndị Anambra to recognize the importance of their electoral participation.
The Governor highlighted his administration’s accomplishments, assuring residents that their votes will contribute to a brighter future for the state, particularly in areas like infrastructure and healthcare.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, who is also a member of the APGA Board of Trustees, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the welfare of the people, echoing the Governor’s call for mass voter mobilization. “We need everyone to come out and cast their votes,” Bianca Ojukwu urged, emphasizing that the policies of Governor Soludo are built on the solid foundation of the party’s motto. Mayor of Nnewi South, Mrs. Amaka Obi, reiterated that Governor Soludo has proven his capacity across all sectors of the state’s economy and deserves the full support of the people.
As the rallies concluded, Nnewi North residents demonstrated their strong backing for the Soludo-Ibezim candidacy, contributing over fifty-five million naira as campaign support.
The energy and determination displayed in both local government areas highlights a pivotal moment for Anambra state as it approaches a crucial election, with ndị Anambra themselves, uniting to champion the ideals of good governance and sustainable development.
