Popular human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has called out ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer over his stolen high-tech Ray-Ban AI smart glasses.
A dramatic twist unfolded during a protest on Monday, July 21st, 2025 at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja as Sowore accused a police staff of stealing his AI smart glasses in the heat of the demonstration.
Sowore, in a post on his verified Facebook page, claimed that a cameraman under the Force Public Relations Unit, identified as Aku Victor Chiemere, forcefully removed the glasses from his face during the protest.
The activist alleged that Chiemere works directly under the Police Spokesperson, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi.
He wrote; “Yesterday, during the historic #PoliceProtest at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, Aku Victor Chiemere, a staff cameraman under the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, stole my Ray-Ban AI smart glasses.”
“This act is not only criminal, it is a reprehensible criminal behavior orchestrated by a senior police officer.”
“I am demanding the immediate return of my stolen property and the prosecution of both CSP Muyiwa Adejobi and Aku Victor Chiemere for theft, conspiracy, and official misconduct.”
For those who don’t know, on Monday, Sowore led a large-scale protest at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja. The demonstration, which drew the participation of retired police officers, was organized to demand improved pension benefits and address long-standing issues of neglect and poor welfare faced by police retirees
