What People Don’t Know About Chiwetalu Agu’s Release By DSS

That Nollywood veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu has been released from the Department of State Services (DSS) custody is an established fact.

Be that as it may, fresh fact has emerged about the famous actor’s release by the DSS.

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s former spokesman, Reno Omokri on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 took to his Instagram page and wrote;

“I am ever grateful to Chief Mike Ozekhome for being instrumental to the release of Chiwetalu Agu after his unjust and illegal arrest by a repressive regime that celebrates Sheikh Gumi for promoting terrorist bandits and denigrates Agu for expressing his freedom of thought via his dressing.”

“I hope one or two social media based skit artists can see that our collective freedom is bigger than the small change they make from Instagram.”

“Stop thinking of what Instagram and social media can do for you. Instead think of what you can use Instagram and social media to do for Nigeria.”

“We should be more committed to Nigeria’s freedom than to what we will eat. God bless you Mike Ozekhome SAN!”

It is interesting to know that, Actor’s Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Director of Communications, Monalisa Chinda Coker had in a statement titled; “CHIWETALU AGU RELEASED TO ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERA,” said;

“The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas has yet again secured the release of Actor Chiwetalu Agu from the custody of the DSS.”

“On behalf of the Guild, According to Emeka Rollas, I was at the DSS office with my colleague, the Senior special Assistant on Military Affairs and Inter Governmental Relations to the President Steve Eboh to receive Mr. Agu today.”

“The elated veteran Actor thanked God for surviving the ordeal and commended the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria headed by Ejezie Emeka Rollas for their relentless efforts in securing his release from the detention.”

For those who don’t know, Chiwetalu Agu was first arrested by the Nigerian Army on Thursday October 7th, 2021 at Upper Iweka Bridge, Onitsha, Anambra State for wearing a Biafran regalia.

The actor was thereafter released by the Army after he was moved from Anambra to Enugu State.

Agu, shortly was re-arrested by the operatives of the DSS on Friday, October 8th, 2021.
