Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has slammed Afrobeats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s son, Seun Kuti, over allegations that he stole his nickname.
It all started during a livestream days ago when a Wizkid fan asked Seun Kuti to change his nickname, “Big Bird,” claiming that Wizkid already goes by the name “Biggest Bird.”
Responding to the comment, Seun Kuti insisted that Wizkid was the one who copied his nickname.
He said, “Wizkid stole my name. Tell your fave to be original. Why are you telling me to change my name? Sorry, I can’t change it. This name has been here for a long time. I was the first to come up with it. I am not dragging it with anybody, please.”
Reacting to the accusation, Wizkid took to social media to fire back at the singer with a series of heated posts.
He wrote; “I big pass your papa!! Wetin you don do? I’m Big Wiz every day.”
In another post, he added, “Ok everybody better pass Wizkid! Can we all sleep now? Fela fight for freedom, this fool dey fight FC! Oloshi omo ale!”
