Blessing Okogbue Buries Father

The Nwafor family of Umuezeama, Ude Ofeme, Umuahia, Abia state have concluded arrangements to give their departed patriarch, Samuel Onyenucheya Nwafor a befitting farewell.

Aged 86, the late Nwafor was a teacher, banker, business administrator, devout Christian and a community leader.

Born on August 6 1936 to the late Mr & Mrs Sampson Nwafor, the late Samuel trained as a teacher and got registered in 1962 and obtained London GCE in 1965.

He was also a member of Institute of Bankers, 10 Lombard street, London.

The late Nwafor’s work experience spanned over three decades and cuts across various fields of endeavours.

He was a teacher at Abakiliki from 1956 to 1972.He also worked at the Corporate Bank of Eastern Nigeria from 1972 to 1978.

The late Nwafor was a staff of Siemens Consortium, Shiroro/Minna/Bida project and was sales Manager at Tamalcom Industries Ltd.

He was married to Mrs. DC Nwafor and their marriage is blessed with eight children.

According the programme of events for his burial, the rites of passage commenced on Monday, November 28, 2022 with a service of Songs at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Umuocham while commendation service in his honour will hold at the same venue on Friday, December 2nd, 2022.

This will be followed immediately funeral service at St. John’s Anglican Church, Umuezeama, Ude Ofeme, Umuahia, Abia State.

The late patriarch of the Nwafor family will be laid to rest at his compound immediately after the funeral service.

Thanksgiving service is slated for Sunday, December 4, 2022 at St. John’s Anglican Church, Umuezeama, Ude Ofeme, Umuahia.

He is survived by Blessing Okogbue  Née Nwafor, Obloma  Charles Nwafor, Kelechi Kenneth Nwafor, Barrister Johnson Chikezie Nwafor, Dr. Bright Ireakazie Nwafor, Onyekachi Stephen Nwafor, Fidelis Nwabugwu Nwafor and Ogechi Nneoma Nwafor.

He is also survived by inlaws In Laws: Dr. Patrick Ogbudu and Mr. Amarachukwu Okogbue.
